All About The Manual Coffee Grinder

If you ask someone why they prefer a standard transmission over an automatic you will probably get a variety of answers. Most of these answers however will boil down to more control. You have more control over everything about the car when you can control the timing of the gear changes. This also applies to grinding coffee and for nearly the same reason. When you are driving road conditions will require altering your speed. The same is true when you are grinding coffee beans. Not all beans are the same size this means that some require more grinding than others. When you use a manual coffee grinder you will be able to give the beans much more attention than you can with an electric coffee grinder.

Another great feature of a manual coffee grinder is that it requires no power. You can use the manual type of device on camping, fishing and boating trips and have you morning cup from fresh ground beans every morning, no matter where you are. If you live in an area with regular power outages the manual coffee grinder will come in very handy.

A manual coffee grinder is also much less expensive than even the cheapest electronic or automatic device. Even the best manual grinder will only cost about $200 and you can find one on the internet for about $40, with free shipping. The best way to find them on the internet is to read the reviews and customer comments on the various brands before you actually buy them. There are a wide variety of manual grinders out there and all of them use a burr mechanism. There will be a difference in the price between wheel burr and conical burr but not enough to make that much difference.

Manual coffee grinders are not very neat however. Unless you are careful you can end up making a mess and the hopper is not as large as electronic devices.
