Finding Effective Relief From Flea Bites
It is not unusual for humans to be bitten by fleas. Fleas are annoying parasites that feed on by sucking the blood from their hosts. Flea bites on humans can be described as severely itchy. Flea bites are extremely irritating and humans need to learn about some of the effective reliefs against flea bites.
Humans often think of flea bites as simple mosquito bites or heat rash. In fact, mosquito bites and heat rash are very much different from flea bites. As mentioned earlier, flea bites are extremely itchy and at the same time irritating. You will notice small red spots or lumps that appear on the skin affected by each bite.
Humans are often bitten by fleas towards the feet and legs, though it is not impossible for humans to be bitten on other parts of their body. Flea bites must not be taken for granted as they may aggravate the irritation of the skin if not treated properly. Since, flea bites are particularly itchy it is important to find a relief for itchiness. Doctors usually recommend the application of anti-itch topical creams or hydrocortisone creams. Some prefer taking oral antihistamines to help lessen the itching.
It is important to keep the skin clean to prevent further irritation and lessen the risk of infection. Scratching is also prohibited as it does not only irritate the skin more but also increase the risk of infection. Cleaning the skin with antiseptic soap and lotions are strongly recommended.
To get rid of flea infestation in the future, maintaining a clean environment is the best solution. Fleas do not thrive on clean surroundings. Flea bombs are also helpful in eliminating fleas. Such products are available in most pet stores.
