THE SUPERFOOD MYTH
Nutrition as an industry is really began to blossom in the past 10 or so years. You have to think some of this growth has been found on mistruths, the so-called super food is one of them. It seems to me at least that was some time companies and marketing departments have been labelling all kinds of foods super foods. But what is the definition of this superfood? It seems from their definition of any food containing any nutrient that could aid, prevent, or pretty much do anything nutrients naturally do could be labelled a superfood.
In truth it seems that these foods that were being labelled as super foods could have been anything. It was just coincidence that they were the highest profit margined, fruits, vegetables, grains and meats on the market. In truth no food is a superfood, or foods contain nutrients, or foods contain vitamins and all foods containing all number of things that affect the way our bodies work positively or negatively. The trick is combining these foods so that the complex interactions between those nutrients help you in the way you want them to.
Now one nutrient is effective on its own, they all act as a team many nutrients require others so that they can be absorbed into the system. Without those of the nutrients they would be wasted. There are no super foods what there is is highly nutritious food, by combining the rights foods with the right nutrients we can affect how our body manages fat, how produces energy, how I handle stress and how does any everything up to and including fighting the ageing process. All we have to do is understand the food is a far more complex thing then we've been led to believe.
